Run a small trial in the actual cold process
Include base composition and process notes in the fragrance brief. During evaluation, observe handling, color and scent after the bar is made; the name of an oil alone does not establish performance in a high-pH batch.
What should I watch for during a fragrance trial?
Check for changes in working time, discoloration and scent in the finished batch. Follow the selected oil’s application guidance and decide from the trial result.
